So now that I have the syntax highlighter more-a-less laid out, I then wanted to make it a simple jQuery plugin. this enabled me to change my globals JS to this:
Once I set it up, I wanted to submit it as a jQuery plugin. I was surprised to find that there wasn't already a syntax highlighter plugin. I had never registered a plugin before, so this was my chance.
To register a plugin was rather quick. I created a new repository on Github containing the plugin. Then follow the tutorial on the jQuery Plugin page. With each release I make with the plugin repo, an update is sent to the jQuery Plugins page with the updated information.
Its that simple, try it out.
